The season finale of our modern prog series, Into the Machine, has arrived. Just like the mid-season finale with Steven Wilson, I wanted to end the season by talking to one of the giants of the scene. Also someone who has been at it longer than many of the younger prog bands of our day.
Once again I reunited with keyboard wizard, Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. We caught up with Jordan in Nuremberg, Germany while DT were out in support of The Astonishing. Keith Emerson had passed only a few days before we met. Being a big influence on the direction Jordan took in his life, the emotional aftermath resonated in what Jordan had to say.

FreqsFact: I celebrated my birthday at midnight on the day we filmed with Jordan. We filmed the whole day with him but sat in as fans on the Astonishing show that night. After the concert, we packed up our gear, said goodbyes to the band and headed over to an Irish Pub in Nuremberg for some revelry. It was a birthday to remember.
